Steve Adam Montoya

Steve Adam Montoya passed away on July 20, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was born on March 22, 1958, to Paul and Toni Montoya in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He was preceded in death by his father Paul. Steve is survived by his wife Trena, daughters Sarah Florez, husband John Florez, Stephanie Montoya and Samantha Simon, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his mother Toni Montoya; brothers Leonard Montoya, Alan Montoya; sisters Ann Gonzales, Susan Montoya and Frances Santisteven; many nieces and nephews as well as many relatives within the Montoya and Valdez families.

Steve was a member of the Local 114 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union for many years. During his later working years Steve and his wife Trena traveled across the country as a travel UA member as a pipefitter which he loved. Being the storyteller that he was, he had many stories to tell about his work and the people he met along the way. He made many friends. Steve (Papa to his grandchildren) will be greatly missed.

Services for Steve will be held on August 13th, 2025 at St. Anne's Catholic Church at 1400 Arenal Rd SW Albuquerque, NM 87105. Rosary will begin at 8:30am with mass immediately following.

Pallbearers are grandsons, Cruzito Florez with Honerary pallbearer, Julian Gomez.

Burial will also take place on August 13th, 2025 at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd NE, 87107 immediately following rosary and mass services. With reception at the VFW on 2011 Girard Blvd SE, Albuquerque NM 87106 from 2pm to 5pm also being held on August 13th, 2025.
