Celeste was a native of New Iberia and resident of Lafayette, Louisiana for most of her life. She was the 4th of 9 children and grew up in a devout Catholic family, who attended mass and prayed the rosary together. Her childhood home was always filled with prayer, love, laughter and music. Her parents, who were an artist and musician, instilled a love of God and the arts in their children, who could often be found playing music and singing together. Celeste attended Mount Carmel Academy followed by receiving her Associates Degree from Southwestern Louisiana Institute (now U.L.L.). Through her vocation as a stay at home mom, Celeste spent her life always putting God, her husband, and her children's needs and desires above her own. As a mother she instilled the importance of trusting God's will and living a faith-filled life in her children. Celeste had a great devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and prayed the rosary daily with her husband. She was a member of St. Edmund Catholic Church where she was a lector at daily mass, a Eucharistic minister, and volunteered her time at the church office. She was also a homebound minister where she enjoyed bringing the Holy Eucharist to and praying with parishioners who were unable to attend mass. She looked forward to attending annual silent retreats at Our Lady of the Oaks in Grand Coteau with her sisters and daughters, and spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Celeste will be remembered for her humility, devotion to her Catholic faith, her love of family, and her unselfish desire to carry out God's will for her life. Pallbearers will be Chris Galvez, Hank Boudreaux, Matthew Montesano, Michael Boudreaux, Bradley Boudreaux and Christian Galvez. Special thanks to Agnes Kilchrist of Agnes' Loving Care and her team; Connie Celestine, Tracy Leon, Lorraine Catalon, Dinell Thomas and Faye Babineaux for their loving and compassionate care.
