Daniel Neil Hargett, Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00PM on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 in the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist for Daniel Neil Hargett, Jr., 58, who passed away on March 11, 2018 after suffering a spinal cord injury in December. Msgr. Keith Derouen, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Daniel, a resident of Cankton, was the son of the late Daniel N. Hargett, Sr. and the former Yvette Bonin. Daniel graduated from Lafayette High School where he played football and track (threw shotput). He attended USL then went to work for his family's business, CSI Hydrostatic Testers and Hargett Mooring and Marine where he was Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Daniel was involved with a NASTEC/IPO with Transcoastal Marine Services. Later he was CEO of Ocean Runner Marine Services. Daniel was a skilled white tail deer hunter and took many trophy bucks. He attended his ranch in Laredo, Texas with his two sons every Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. He was a wonderful son, loving father and best big brother. He was a great story teller with a personality as big as his smile. Daniel will be deeply missed by those who loved him. He is survived by his mother, Yvette Hargett Judice and husband, Ronnie; two children, Nicholas Colton Hargett and Daniel Neil Hargett, III; two sisters, Elizabeth Hargett Patridge and Heidi Hargett Perry and husband, Adam; one brother, Lloyd Gresham Hargett, II; Rachel Evans, mother of his two children. He was preceded in death by his father; maternal grandparents, Garland and Aline Bonin; paternal grandparents, Lloyd and Agnes Broussard Hargett and his brother in law, Steven Patridge. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Wednesday, from 10:30AM until 2:30PM.
