Demarka Anthony McZeal

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 15, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Edmond Catholic Church for Demarka Anthony McZeal, 45, who died Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Lafayette General Southwest in Lafayette. Interment will be at a later date at St. Martin DePorres Cemetery. The Rev. Gilbert J. Dutel will be the Celebrant of the Mass. DeMarka Anthony McZeal was born on November 8, 1970, son of the late Linda Fay McZeal and Allen Broussard. He was known to his family and friends as "Poppy". A life-long resident of Lafayette, DeMarka was a graduate of Acadiana High School Class of 1989. He loved spending time with his family, going fishing, watching car and horse races, and driving around in his mustang. Demarka was full of life and humor. He loved to make others laugh. DeMarka was employed for a number of years with The Lafayette Consolidated Government and McZeal's Appraisal Service. DeMarka leaves to cherish his memories: his father Allen Broussard (Faye) of Humble, TX; aunt Gertie McZeal of Lafayette; four uncles Howard McZeal (Carla), Charles McZeal (Barbara) and Glynn McZeal (Gloria), all of Lafayette and Lee McZeal of Washington D.C.; five sisters Yolanda Charles of Spring, TX, Mia Broussard of Humble, TX, Tamalon Fields, Crystal James, and Jennifer Ward all of Houston, TX; three brothers Cedric Broussard, Chris Ward, and Alex Hightower all of Houston, TX; his god-daughter, Kylahnn Charles; and a host of cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Kameron Anthony McZeal; his mother, Linda McZeal; his grandparents: Curley and Mildred McZeal, Allen and Marjorie Broussard; his aunts: Mary Jane McZeal, Espanola Broussard, and Mamie Broussard; and his three uncles: Curley McZeal Jr., James McZeal, and John McZeal.
