Howard Poche Jr.

Funeral services will be conducted for Howard Poche, Jr., 75, at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 13, 2017, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Cedric Sonnier officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Jeanerette on Friday, January 13, 2017, from 8:30 AM until 2:00 PM. A rosary will be recited in the church on Friday at 11:00 AM. A native and lifelong resident of Jeanerette, Howard passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at 12:40 PM at his residence. He was the former manager of the Star Theater in Jeanerette, a former dispatcher for the Jeanerette Police Department, drove a taxi for Jimmy Brown Taxi Company and was a clerk for Jimmy Brown's Bus Station in Jeanerette. He was a devoted usher at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church for many years. He was a volunteer worker at David Funeral Home for his devotion and loved to assist families in their time of need. He is survived by his aunt, Verna Robin of Jeanerette; his nephews, Ross Durocher and his wife Sadie of Abbeville and Brad Poche of Loreauville; his nieces, Daphine Thibodeaux and her husband Ronald, Tina Broussard all of Loreauville and Lauren Durocher of Jeanerette; his sister-in-law, Kandi Durocher of New Iberia and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Poche, Sr. and Odette Durocher Poche and his brothers, Lester Poche and Adrian Durocher. Pallbearers will be Ross Durocher, Jerome Fitch, Norman Brignac, Kirk Robin, Dean Robin, Lynn Robin, Jacques Larroque and Ricky Baudry.
