A Rosary will be recited on Thursday at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille's (Downtown) Location. Entombment will be held in Fountain Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Reverend Gil Dutel will conduct the services. Survivors include her beloved husband of 51 years, Karl Wayne Short; her daughter, Desiree Short Thibodeaux; her son, Shavee M. Short and his companion, Nicole Theriot; her granddaughter, Anna Nicole Thibodeaux; her brother, Troy Holleman; her sisters, Artie Ray, Jacqueline Capell, and Christine Dehner and her husband, William "Bill"; and numerous dear nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Morris Jack Holleman and Lillian Patout Holleman; her sister, Dana Courrege; and her three brothers-in-law, John Courrege, David Ray, and Robert Capell. Louise was born September 11, 1954 in New Iberia, Louisiana and was a longtime resident of Acadiana. She was a Lafayette High School Alumni. She and her husband were the founders and owners of Short's RV/Boat Storage and Mobile Home Park in Scott for over 20 years. Louise was a parishioner of St. Edmond Roman Catholic Church in Lafayette. She cherished spending time with family and friends. Louise loved saltwater fishing, especially at her favorite fishing hole down by Bayou Sally. Her biggest win while gambling was in 2010, taking home a shiny red GT Mustang convertible. If Louise wasn't fishing or gambling, you could probably find her shopping or cooking, as she immensely enjoyed this pastime. Family meant everything to Louise and she leaves a legacy of loved and will be deeply missed. The family wishes to thank the staff of Hospice of Acadiana, especially Melissa Jacobs (nurse) and Annette Cashat (caregiver) for their compassionate support and loving care. Also to Reverend Francis Kwasi Agbley, Reverend Joe Campion, and Reverend Gil Dutel for their spiritual support and prayers for Louise. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Louise Holleman Short's name to Hospice of Acadiana,
