Barbara Grisham Obituary

Barbara Ann Grisham, 52, died Oct. 14, 2010, at home in Wasilla after a lengthy fight with cancer.

She was born Sept. 6, 1958, in Cleveland, Ohio, and came to Alaska in 1992.

She attended Lamar University of Texas and the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. She was the administrative assistant and pianist for On Eagle's Wings Ministry. She loved crocheting baby blankets and playing piano for church and family and also loved to read.

According to her family, "She was and will always be my 'Princess.' She was always supportive, encouraging and patient. She was an ardent Christian. She is deeply loved and will be badly missed, for she was a wonderful and loving wife and mother." She was always her family's biggest fan, they said.

She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Dan Grisham; daughter, Miriam Grisham; and two sons, Joshua and Adam Grisham, all of Wasilla; sister, Terry Turner of Washington; aunt, Vi McIver of Arizona; and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Kunz; and mother, Florence Kampfe.

Arrangements are with Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Wasilla.

My family miss and love Barb.
So much has happened since she´s been gone Home. I believe she may have a high bleacher seat looking down into the amazing happenings here that are God-pleasing.

Barbara, you were my only piano teacher. I still have the skills you taught me. I dreamed last night that you were alive and played me a beautiful song. Rest In Peace.

Fear not, for the coming of the Lord shall not prevent those who have fallen asleep in Christ. For on THAT DAY, the TRUMPET of THE LORD SHALL SOUND and the dead in Christ shall be raised first and we who remain shall be caught up to meet them in the air and so shall we ever be with the LORD!

Mr. Grisham, Miriam, Adam and Josh, Words cannot express how deeply sorrowful I was to hear of Mrs. Grishams, (your wife and mother's), passing. She will always be a costant reminder to us all of who a true woman of God is and what Gods love looks like. I pray you carry that with you. Remember that nothing is coincidental and that everything happens for a reason. Words will not heal the wounds that life leaves behind, only the love of Jesus Christ and time. Mrs. Grisham was a woman of strength and perseverence. It is by no chance that she passes her legacy onto you all. You are a family of mighty MIGHTY warriors! Through her death, God will guide your path. Keep well Grisham family. We will be praying for as we have been. May you stay strong, only in the Lord and find the perseverence that He grant you because no weapon formed against those who love the Lord will prosper. :)

Dan, Miriam, Adam, Joshua,
Deepest sympathies are sent from Texas. I am so sorry that your beloved one is gone from your presence. In her last phone conversation with me only days ago, Barb whispered: "God is in control." May that pure sweet thought comfort you all. Sending unmeasurable love, ~Liz Lee
