Beverly Lambert

Former Anchorage resident Beverly Ann Lambert, 65, died Jan. 8, 2010, at her son's home in South Bend, Ind.

A memorial service was held in Indiana. A burial service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 27, at Angelus Memorial Park Cemetery.

Beverly was born May 15, 1944, to Marjorie Mercier and Oscar David Humphreys Sr. in Baton Rouge, La.

Beverly worked for the University of Alaska Anchorage in the advising and counseling department after retiring from the Anchorage School District, where she worked as a custodian for more than 20 years.

Bev loved to fish, garden and was a talented cook. She took time to preserve her own vegetables and fruits, which she shared generously with family and friends.

Mrs. Lambert is survived by her husband, Donald Lambert, until recently of French Settlement, La.; daughters, Margie Pillsbury, her husband Kevin, and children Nicholas, Joe and Priscilla Escobar of Gaines, Mich.; Elizabeth Dennis, her husband Kevin, and children Jared and Kristina Dennis of Palmer; sons, Don Lambert of South Bend, and Joseph "David" Lambert of Palmer; sisters, Hazel Keller, Linda McLain and Marion Batey; and a brother, Robert Humphreys.

Beverly was preceded in death by her son, John Daniel Lambert; a sister, Virginia "Jenny" Wardell; and two brothers, Oscar David "Bo" Humphreys Jr., and Daniel Ray Humphreys.
