Cecil Robert Coffey, Sr., 74, of Knoxville, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2017 at his home, with his family by his side. He was born November 16, 1942 in Lafayette, Georgia, the son of Cecil Garth Coffey and Lorena Glover Coffey. Mr. Coffey was a 1962 graduate of Oak Ridge High School. He was a pipefitter with the Plumbers and Pipe fitters Local #166 until declining health forced him to retire. He was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church. He enjoyed NASCAR and was a fan of Dale Earnhardt. He also enjoyed cars, country and gospel music and spending time with his family, kids and grandchildren. He was an avid fan of Oak Ridge High School football where his grandchildren played with the Wildcats.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Patterson Coffey, with whom he just celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on January 12th. He is also survived by sons, Cecil Robert Coffey, Jr. and Timothy Coffey, both of Knoxville; daughters, Cindy Dean and husband Michael of Lenoir City, Amanda Jones and husband Steve of Oliver Springs and Tabitha Coffey of Clinton; grandchildren, Cecil Revel Coffey, Ralphael Coffey, Calissa Coffey, Charvis Coffey, Celina Moore, Timothy Weaver, Alyrika Coffey, Lily Coffey and Macey Jones; and 6 great-grandchildren; special nephew, Ricky Patterson and two special nieces, Debbie Plemons and Sharon Miller. The family would like to extend a very special thanks to Amber "Shorty" Bettis who served the family as a loving caregiver and to Avalon Hospice for all their help and support.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 from 12:00–2:00 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary. The funeral will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Steve McDonald officiating. Interment in Oak Ridge Memorial Park will follow. An on-line guest book can be signed at www.weatherfordmortuary.com.
