Dan McClain Obituary

Our father, Dan Baxter McClain drove his Harley to the pearly gates of heaven on Oct. 22, 2018. He passed away at home in Phelan, Calif., with his family at his side. Dan was born on Aug. 28, 1953, in Milo, Ark.
Dan is survived by his five children, J.D. McClain, Jesse McClain, Lucas McClain, Nicholas McClain and Tamara Berge (nee McClain). He is also survived by 10 grandkids.
Dan had five children, but he also raised many other kids that he treated like his own. He was known as "Pops" to each of them.Dan lived and breathed for his children. Without a shadow of doubt his kids will always know how much he loved them.
Dan was known as a lone wolf but also a great friend to many. He treated anyone, he accepted into his life, like family. Dan was a very genuine person and full of passion for life. He enjoyed riding his Harley, singing, football, being a mechanic, food and being family man.
Dan looked like a big burley mean ole biker, but on the inside he was the biggest teddy bear you would ever meet. Dan's favorite saying was, "let the good times roll" (Laissez Le Bon Temps Rouler) and that he always did. He had a passion for everything he did and always had a big ole smile on his face with his belly laugh.
Dan is tremendously missed by all. A big piece is missing on this earth now that he is gone, but he will always live on through each and everyone of us. He would always say, "Live each day like it's your last cause you never know what tomorrow will bring" and that he always did.
Dan was a legend and his life was like a book. He lived a life most people dream of, so full and crazy most people would think it was fictional. It seems as if Dan has lived many lives in just one: the man, the legend, himself Dan B. McClain - Rest easy daddy.
Celebration of life will be held at American Legion Post 28, 7001 Brayton Dr, Anchorage AK 99507, on Nov. 3, 2018, at 6 p.m.

I'll never forget meeting you and being your friend in 1983. You were a great mechanic and helped me learn a lot and helped my parents with their cars. We had great times with softball, you were the best home plate blocker in Anchorage~!! Our fishing trips were always a fun adventure with all your kids and Lidia would fillet and cook the best damn salmon I ever ate. I am glad I got to share those times and many other great times with you my great friend. Thanks for forgiving my time of weakness. You will always live on in my heart. Happy Trails my Friend, Until we meet again~!!! RIP
