Funeral services for Mr. Alphis "Red" McClain, of Winnsboro, will be 2:00PM Thursday, January 22, 2026, in the chapel of Young's Community Memorial Winnsboro with Bro. James Busby and Bro. Ron Ferrington officiating. Interment will follow at Harris Cemetery in Swampers, under the direction of Young's Community Memorial. Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 8:00PM Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at the funeral home.

Red was born May 25, 1945, in Crossett, AR and passed from this life on January 17, 2026, in Winnsboro, at the age of 80. He served in the United States Army/National Guard during the Vietnam Era and was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Winnsboro. He worked many years as a maintenance worker and was skilled at mechanics and fixing things. He enjoyed tinkering on things in his spare time, could fix almost anything, and was skilled in welding, carpentry, truck driving and diesel mechanics. Red enjoyed watching racing and football on TV, working in his vegetable gardens, and was known as a great cook, famous for his potato salad and cabbage. He loved barbeque grilling while spending time chatting with friends and family. Those who loved him remember him as "a ten-foot-tall superman", friendly and generous, who never forgot a face, and was always willing to give to others or help in any situation when asked. He will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Tammy McClain; his parents, Alphis and Florine McClain; and four brothers, Danny McClain, Bronco McClain, David McClain and Rufus McClain.

Survivors include his sons, Dakota McClain and wife, Kourtney of Monroe, Rodney Cupp and wife, Lena of Winnsboro; one granddaughter, Falicity Allen of Winnsboro; one sister, Frances Bourgeois of Shreveport; sister-in-law and best friend, Laurie Ward of Winnsboro; brothers-in-law, Tony Hall and wife, Colannie of Crowville, Hank Hall and wife, Amy of Florida; and fur-baby, "Duke"; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Pallbearers will be J.D. Slaughter, Edge Crum, Dyllan Crum, Justin Hendry, Chad Ward, and Chuck Ward. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Hall.
