Sam H. Roberts

Funeral services for Sam H. Roberts, 85, of Wisner, LA, will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, January 16, 2026, at First Pentecostal Church of Wisner with Rev. Peyton Sparks and Rev. Bobby Ensminger officiating. Interment to follow at South Central Cemetery in Wisner. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro.

Sam was born on April 27, 1940, in Wisner, LA to Spencer and Myrtis Mason Roberts and passed from this life on January 13, 2026, at his home in Wisner. Sam had a deep love for Bluegrass music and played with the Catahoula Music Show. But his family is what he cherished the most. He could often be found in the middle of the floor playing and wrestling with the grandkids. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lawrence Roberts, Bill Roberts, Jess Roberts, T.G. Roberts, Lloyd Roberts, and Otis Roberts; grandson, Trey Haring.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 67 years, Carolyn Nugent Roberts; children, Marty Roberts and wife Lori, Gary Roberts and wife Cindy and Tami Haring; special nephew and wife, Larry and Beverly Roberts; he is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, plus a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Roberts, Todd Roberts, Danny Roberts, Toby Roberts, James Roberts and Aaron Ellerbe. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Roberts, Red Roberts, Kenny Roberts, Tony Roberts, Rusty Roberts and Tommy Roberts.
