David Badger Obituary

Long time Alaska resident, David L. Badger, passed away Friday, June 13, 2014, of natural causes.

A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, June 17, 2014, from 4-8 p.m., at the Moose Lodge in Palmer.

David was born August 11, 1948, in Pierre, SD to Herb & Bessie Badger. He was the second of ten children.

He moved to Alaska as a boy and settled with his family in Palmer. He was a graduate of Palmer High School. It was in Palmer where he met and married his wife, Theresa Alcantra in October of 1967. They had four children together; daughter, Tracy in 1968, son, Dale in 1971, daughter, Tonya in 1973 and son David in 1990.

He was self-employed for most of his adult life. He owned an excavation company, J&J Enterprises and later was contracted to transport goods up the Alcan Highway.

He is preceded in death by both his parents, Herb & Bessie; brother Donald; sister Mary; wife Theresa; son Dale; granddaughter Colleen; brother-in-law Daniel; niece Lacy Jo; nephew Kenny; niece Alexi; and most recently, brother Herb in May.

He is survived by three children, Tracy, Tonya and David; son-in-law Gary; daughter-in-law Stephanie; grandchildren Felecia, Wesley, Grant and Saibra; great-grandchildren Isaac, Bailey and Gavin; brothers Carlin (Yukiko), Michael, Monte (Kathy), Gary (Denise) and Merl (Audrey); sisters Donna (Doyle), Janice and Linda (Daniel); mother-in-law Patricia and numerous extended family members.

So sorry I could not be there! I loved David, like a brother, and I know Theresa is glad to have him with her! My sympathies go out to all of David's family from both the Badgers' and Alcantras'. We will miss you! Rest easy David, know you are loved!
