Donna Lemaire Obituary
Donna married Ted Lemaire on Aug. 24, 1956, in Detroit, Mich. Donna and Ted moved to Ohio, where Ted attended college. Ted and Donna had three children while living in Dayton, Ohio. In 1967, they began a new adventure with their children and drove to Homer, Alaska. They spent the next four years operating an accounting business.
In 1971, she and her husband settled in Anchorage, Alaska. Donna retired for the Corps of Engineers. Donna was a long-standing member of Dimond Boulevard Baptist Church and was very active in teaching Children's Church and in the Awana program.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and granddaughter, Mandy Lemaire.
Donna is survived by her husband, Ted of Anchorage; sons, Jim (Dianna) of Springfield, Mo., and David (Michelle) Lemaire; daughter, Linda (Keith) Close of Anchorage; three grandchildren, Daniel (Liz) Lemaire of Salt Lake City, Utah, Martin (Nune) Lemaire of Boston, Mass., and Kelsey (Sasha) Close of Barcelona, Spain; great-grandson, Remi; and brother, Tom (Paula) Witt.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Donna Lemaire Baptistery Fund at Dimond Boulevard Baptist Church.
Donna will truly be missed by those who had the privilege to know her. A service will take place on Friday, April 6, 2018, at 1:30 p.m., at Dimond Boulevard Baptist Church, with a reception to follow at the church following a graveside service.
