Dear Mrs. Metoyer and family,

I'm not sure if you remember me, I played hockey with Duncan for years at AHA. Duncan was one who I considered a childhood freind and contributed to fond childhood memories; I thank you for that, because it is through you, that I have these personal treasures.

About a year before his passing, I had the chance to reconnect with Duncan as our kids teams were passing between hockey practice. Lil Duncan is a bit older than my son Hunter-and was practicing at the time of our visit. We chatted for about an hour and I must say it was a fantastic visit. During lil Duncans practice, I was amazed at how much he resembled his dad on the ice at that age-this is how I'll remember Duncan.

At any rate Mrs. Metoyer, I wish your family the best-please pass on my sincere condolence to everyone, but most all to yourself.

Respectfully,

Joseph Metoyer

Hello, my name is Cherese Jordan. Duncan and I met while at Bartlett high school. He was my buddy and yes, Duncan...I'm telling it. He and another gentleman were cheerleaders for a couple of weeks at Bartlett. They lifted and held us young ladies in the air... We talked a lot while he was in his early stages and throughout his surgery in New Orleans. He was laughing and joking the whole time that I did not believe that they had amputated his leg until he came back to Alaska and I saw for myself. He lived life and loved life! God Bless..Rest in Loving Peace.....(BoonDockCity)-(by Duncam)

In remembrance of Duncan a lovely young man in whom our hearts goes out. Duncan's heart touched many and during his journey in life have made us proud as a family , a race, a people and and a child of GOD. Though at times it may not be easy adjusting to the lost we have suffer in his absents, assuredly for a time his soul may rest for we shall see him a new and in that day he shall not suffer nor shall there be crying.(Rev 21:4) To Cyrstel, Selina and The Metoyer Family be at peace, you have not lost a love one for he which dies in Christ shall rise. (1Thess4:16)

I can't really believe that the day has come and we really had to say goodbye. I have known Duncan over 20 years and every year was an adventure! Duncan was a man of honor indeed and definitely had a strong head! Over our 20 years or more of friendship, we learned to love and respect one another more and more with each like experience we had! Crystel and I have been best friends for over 25 years and have shared so many things in common. Our daughters are exactly too days apart and little Duncan fills my void for the son I loss that was premature just as little Duncan was!!! Thank you God for letting me know such a wonderful man, and letting me see my son through his own!!! I will meet you at the lake Duncan, get the fish ready!!! Love ya.

I'm sorry to hear that Duncan is gone. I'm glad to know that he lived life to the fullest. The apostle Paul said, "He had learned in whatsoever state he was in, therewith to be content." (Phil. 4:11)

I think that was Duncan's attitude. I knew him briefly while I worked in security at Bartlett. He was special then and It's nice to know that Duncan maintained his great outlook throughout his life.

I pray God's peace and comfort to you at this time of grief.

February 23, 2007

Hello,
My name is Kim Lee and I am a long distance relative you might say of Duncan Metoyer. My sister Jacqueline Duncan is married to Duncan's uncle, Benjamin Duncan. I did not know Duncan personally but I am taking his death pretty hard. I don't understand it myself but I find myself crying for Duncan when I think about him. I know Duncan is with the Lord because he gave his life to Jesus Christ. My family tells me how sweet, kind and easy going type person he was. My sister says he would visit her when he was enrolled at the "Ronald McDonald House" cancer facility for children in New Orleans. She commented that he was a very sweet child and a pleasure to be around. I can tell by his picture he was a very handsome young man and now he's not in any pain or suffering anymore. "When out of the body is to be in the presence of the Lord." Rest on Duncan, my fervent pray was that the Lord would be merciful to you and he did. You lived 33 beautiful years. God loves you and we do too!

I didn't really know Duncan personally, although I have seen him around town many times and he would come to my house to visit with my sister Yawtvaw Kedem when I was younger. I remember often thinking to myself how much I admired the fact that he had many chalenge ahead of him such as having a long battle with cancer and having only one leg that he still remained happy and lived life to the fullest! My sister would tell me stories of how he loved to dance and he was always fun to be around! I remember how inspired I was to not let anything stop me or get in the way of me living my life with a disability which confined me to a wheelcair since birth when I would see/hear of Duncan and his life. Duncan is, was and forever will be an insparation to me, all his family, friends and anyone who was blessed to know or have met him!!! He is loved by all and will truely be missed!!!

R.I.P. Duncan! Me and my sister Yawtvaw love you and We will miss you!!!
