Edna Lythgoe Obituary

Edna Viola Lythgoe, 80, died peacefully Feb. 19, 2007, at home of natural causes with her daughter and the caring Hospice nurse by her side.
A gathering of family and friends will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Evergreen Memorial Chapel. A celebration of life willl be at 3 p.m. Chaplain Don McCullough will officiate. A reception will be at 2930 Monarch Circle after the service.
Mrs. Lythgoe was born March 21, 1926, in Mobridge, S.D. She was a high school graduate.
Family wrote: "Mrs. Lythgoe moved to Alaska with her husband, Lynn Sr. in April 1960 to raise their family. Together they raised four children: three sons, Gary, Kenneth and Lynn Jr., and one daughter, Jacquelin Lythgoe. Edna and Lynn's children remain in Alaska and have also raised their families in Alaska. Due to Edna's dedication to family our family has grown and so has Anchorage, due to the Lythgoe family.
"She worked for Alaska Communication Systems and LH Construction.
"She enjoyed fishing in Seward with family members, and camping.
"Edna's children were her jewels and family was the most important part of her life. We are fortunate to have had her in our lives and her love."
She is survived by her sons, Gary Dale Lythgoe, Kenneth Jay Lythgoe, and Lynn H. Lythgoe Jr., all of Anchorage; daughter, Jacquelin Lythgoe of Anchorage; granddaughters, Kimberely of Texas; Sherri of Florida; Consetta, Melissa and Lori of Utah; Carmela of California; Wendy Bliss Lythgoe, Devin Lynn Gregg, Neelie, and Dena of Anchorage; and Danielle of Kansas; grandsons, Douglas, J.D. and Denali of Florida; and Jacob, Kevin, Cooper Louis Wellman, Steven, and Lynn H. III of Anchorage; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Elma Zimmerman of Utah; and brother, Edwin Fix of California.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn H. Lythgoe Sr.
Flowers can be received prior to the service at Evergreen Memorial Chapel or donations can be sent to Providence Hospice of Anchorage.

All of you are in my thoughts and prayers. I know how hard this is on you. I wish I could be there with you. She was a very special lady who gave us all wonderful memories that will help everyone make it through the rough times. She also gave us alot of memories and stories that will bring a smile and a few chuckles. I will always remember her with warmth and love. Love and miss you all.
