Grandma - I love you a bushel and a peck, and a hug around the neck. I will never forget watching Shirley Temple movies at your house in Alaska or staying up late watching Golden Girls while I stayed with you in Ohio. You will always be my hero for your strength and independence! I will love and miss you always and forever.
Love always,
Alyssa

Aunt Elda was one of the ladies who went into the defense plants during WWII to take the place of men who went to war. She raised six children while being a military wife. She operated a successful baking business. You could say she was a lady ahead of her time. But she never allowed herself to be defined by the times in which she lived. She had her own definition of life and times. Aunt Elda could make you feel special just having a conversation with her. She was an inspiring presense in our lives. We will remember her warmth and humor always. Bobby and Faith Barnett
