Gregory Mitchell Obituary
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, at the Fort Richardson National Cemetery. Please meet outside the Fort Richardson gate off the Glenn Highway prior to 12:45 p.m. to form the procession to the cemetery.
Gregory was born on Sept. 16, 1944, in Paso Robles, Calif., to Dean and Phyllis (Rasquien) Mitchell. He honorably served in the U.S. Army. Gregory married Michele Mitchell on Dec. 15, 1990.
He was a member of the VFW and enjoyed working on vehicles and spending time with family and friends.
His family wrote, "He was a sweet kind-hearted man and was loved by many."
Gregory is survived by his wife, Michele of Anchorage; daughter, Therasa and her husband, Cody Carlson of Minot Air Force Base, N.D.; two granddaughters, Evelynn and Elaina Carlson, both of Minot AFB, N.D.; and one brother, Gary Mitchell of Fox, Alaska.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, David.

Greg and I worked together in Alaska from 1975 to 1982. We became close friends.My wife and I loved him like a brother. We have stayed in touch. I will miss him like a brother.
