James Boroughs Obituary

James "Jimmy" Boroughs, 44, passed away on Nov. 25, 2015. Jimmy was born on April 13, 1971, in Anchorage, Alaska. He has lived in Alaska his entire life. Jimmy graduated from Service High School and went on to work as a roofer for several companies in Alaska. Jimmy was an avid fisherman who loved all things outdoors. He enjoyed cooking and was known for his world famous pollo fundidos that his family begged him to make on a regular basis. Jimmy had a huge heart, the kind of man that would literally give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He was devoted to the love of his life, Jenene. They are expecting their first grandbaby and Jimmy was over the moon excited to be a grandpa. Children gravitated towards him, especially his nieces and nephews - probably because he was a big kid at heart. Jimmy had a special bond with his mother: no matter what the situation was, he would always call his mom. We know he is at peace with his brother, Jason, watching over all of us. Jimmy has left a hole in the heart of his family that will never be filled. He will be forever loved and missed. Jimmy is survived by his longtime companion, Jenene Tower; son, Jesse Boroughs; stepson, Jeremy Gutierrez; mother, Jackie Letts; and stepfather, Gene Letts; sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Jason Reed; sister and brother-in-law, Courtney and Ty Calvin; sister-in-law, Ray Ortega; grandmother, Katie Phillips; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Jimmy is preceded in death by his father, James Boroughs; and brother, Jason Boroughs. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, at 2 p.m., at the American Legion Post 28, 7001 Brayton Drive, Anchorage, AK 99507. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Diabetes Association, a cause near and dear to Jimmy. Arrangements are with Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
