He was a wonderful commissioner of Labor and a warm and welcoming boss to me when I worked in his office as a typist in the early 1980’s in Juneau. I was only 19-20 years old, and admired him so much.

Carolyn, it wasn't until we received your Christmas card that we suspected that Jim may have lost his battle and went home to be with our Lord and Savior. We are so sorry for your loss and saddened that we did not get to know Jim better. We will miss seeing him on our trip to Alaska this year. Much love to you and your family from our family. Carolyn, Sorry we could not make it to Anchorage for Jim's service. He was a great human being and an example of everything that is right about the labor movement. I very much admired him and valued his friendship during the many years we worked together. Driving by your former home on Pioneer Avenue always brings back memories of the great parties and good times there when Jim was Commissioner of Labor. Love, Tom & Heather Cashen

My heart aches for the loss of Jim. I worked for him when he was the Commissioner of the Department of Labor. Of all the people that I have worked for over the years, Jim was by far the very best. No one else I know of cared so much for the people who worked for him. I have told and retold stories of Jim as Commissioner of Labor. So many funny ones. Though I have not seen him in a few years, he will be missed.

Dear Carolyn, Rhonda and all the family, It was with great sadness that I found Jim's name among the obituaries today. I know it has been a difficult struggle but he handled it in true "Jim Robison" fashion--head on!
He was the most fun to work with and absolutely the greatest boss I ever had. May your faith and huge storehouse of memories carry you through this difficult time. Nancy Cannington Galstad (Auburndale, FL)

Dear Carolyn, David and I are so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. We send our condolences and deepest sympathy. He was a great guy and had an infectious smile! We have fond memories of you and him when you lived down in Fallbrook. Especially one Fourth of July at the Del Mar Fairgrounds parking lot...remember we sat in the parking lot for two hours and you had to pick someone up at the airport! Again, you are in our thoughts and prayers. He's with Jesus now and probably playing a round of golf with Doug and Roger!! Love to all, Karen and David
