John Gamez Obituary
A viewing will be held for family and friends at 1 p.m., Wednesday June 18th, with a Celebration of Life beginning at 2:00 p.m., at the Valley Funeral Home, 151 East Herning Ave, Wasilla. Following the services the family will host a gathering at the Gamez Residence. Questions may be directed to the family at 232-3214/376-5811.
John was born on March 9, 1962, in San Antonio, Texas and moved to Wasilla, Alaska in 1992 and has lived here ever since. He served his country in the United State Marine Corp. He was self-employed in the Flooring/Construction industry.
John was very passionate for baseball and was a coach for numerous teams. He had the privilege to coach his son's team.
"John was a very caring, loving, and generous man. Those who knew him were truly blessed. He loved being anyplace that his family was whether at the ice rink, baseball/softball field or even the golf course.
There are so many more things I can tell you about John, but those of you that truly knew him, know what he was like, and that is what we will keep with us. "He will be missed more than words can ever say!" wrote the family.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Games; Daughter, Elisa Gamez; Son, Alexander Gamez; Step-Son, Sean Moore all of Wasilla, Alaska; Sister, Sylvia H Gamez; Brothers, Blas H. Gamez and Danny Lee Gamez of San Antonio, Texas, Brother Andrew H. Gamez of Palmer, Alaska; Mother-In-Law, Geraldine Cooper; and In-Laws; Kelly & Julie Haug of Wasilla, Bobby & Earlene Berg of Kodiak, Marc & Sandy Taylor of Anchorage, Joe Cooper of Soldotna, and numerous Aunts, Nephews and Nieces.
John was preceded in death by Conception JR (Blu)/ Jack Gamez (Brothers), Conception Valle Gamez (Father), Cecila Castro (Sister), and Ophelia Hernandez Gamez (mother).

Arrangements were cared for by Valley Funeral Home, Wasilla Chapel.

My prayers go out to Johnny's family. I worked with Johnny for 10 yrs out on Ft. Richardson. He was always great to me and my crew. On a personal level also, I always enjoyed our friendship. I am so sorry to hear about John. Although I hadn't seen him in some time, I remember him as a wonderful, loving soul, who adored Anna. My thoughts and prayers are with all the family.
