Justina Gilmore Obituary

Justina Gilmore, 88 years, passed away peacefully in her sleep with her loving family at her side on Oct. 3, 2018, in Kent, Wash.
Visitation will be at 12 p.m., followed by the Funeral Service at 1 p.m., on Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, at St. Innocent Russian Orthodox Cathedral, 401 Turpin Street in Anchorage, Alaska. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Angelus Memorial Park Cemetery. Father Jonah Andrew will be officiating. Pallbearers will be: George Bourdukofsky, Dion Dourdukofsky, Gene Bourdukofsky, Thomas Bourdukofsky, Ron Philemonoff, Kaleb Bourdukofsky, Henry Kozloff, Terenty Simeonoff, Mark Bourdukofsky, Michael Bourdukofsky and Mitchell Bourdukofsky.
Justina was born on Oct. 13, 1929, in St. Paul Island, Alaska, daughter to Nikolai and Olga Kozloff. She met her husband, Charles, in Long Beach, Calif., later marrying in 1962, in Las Vegas, Nev. She was a nurse in Long Beach and Anchorage before retiring. She moved to Kent in 2006.
Justina was a member of St. Innocent Russian Orthodox Cathedral, Sisterhood member and President. She was the recipient of the Saint Herman Medallion Award. Her passions were art and doll making. She exhibited her art on the cruise lines. Additionally, she was an instructor and artist at the Alaska Native Heritage Center.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Gilmore; daughters, Jill Gilmore and Ronda Blackburn; son, Timothy Gilmore; grandsons, Richard and Ryan Blackburn; great-granddaughter, Veronica Blackburn; and many beloved nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Alice Philemonoff, Mary Bourdukofsky, Eddie Kozloff and Joseph Kozloff; stepmother, Marina Kozloff; and stepbrother, William Shane.
