Kevin Rollison Obituary

Kevin Patrick Rollison, 40, of Anchorage, died Dec. 24, 2010.

A service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Cornerstone Church, 10431 Brayton Drive.

Kevin was born March 4, 1970, in Gainsville, Ga., to Lt. Col. Gabe Rollison and Martha Rollison. Kevin's childhood was spent in various states due to his military family; ultimately he settled in Anchorage, where his father retired from the Army. Kevin wore the label "Army Brat" with pride.

Kevin graduated from Chugiak High School in 1988. In high school, he was the star quarterback, which earned him a scholarship to Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colo. Shortly after that, Kevin learned the construction business, at which he excelled, and quickly became a foreman.

In 1993, Kevin married Tonya Magnuson and subsequently had three daughters: Jordan, 15, Devon, 10, and Cameron, 7. Kevin was a fantastic father who adored his children. One could readily see the pride in Kevin's eyes when he talked about his beautiful daughters. He truly enjoyed spending time with them, whether he was preparing their favorite food or snowmachining in his favorite spot.

Kevin was extremely social and had many great friends. He loved playing with his girls and dogs Zeek and Titus, arguing sports with his best friend Rod Jackson, music, cooking, snowmachining and softball.

Kevin is survived by his loving mother, Marty Rollison; brother, Kirby Rollison; former wife and dear friend, Tonya Rollison; and daughters, Jordan, Devon and Cameron Rollison.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gabe Rollison.

Kevin was a passionate man who loved the Lord. Kevin will be missed by everyone, especially those who knew him well and loved him dearly.

"Kevin will be in our hearts and memory forever," his family said.

I just learned of Kevin's passing and it is with my deepest sympathies to his family for their loss. It is amazing how time passes by in an instant and it seems like just yesterday. I will always remember Kevin for his humor, support and our days together playing football. As we were known as the "Rainbow Warriors" according to the ADN, he would throw it deep and I would run like hell to get under it. We combined for a lot of yards and a lot of fun. My thoughts and Prayers are with you and I know that only time can help right now. May you find some pease as the loss of a loved one is always hard.

In the arc of Kevin's life, he touched so many people on so many positive ways. It is with great sadness that I heard of his death. I was also a "Ft. Rich Brat" who attended Junior High with Kevin. I'll forever remember his amazing wit.
Much aloha to you, Kevin, and much aloha to your family during this sad time.

Words seem inadequate to express the sadness I feel. Kevin was one of the good ones. With a smile that could light a room and a heart to match that smile with true sincerity. He will be deeply missed!

In my mind’s eye Kevin will be forever be 18, wearing his Chugiak mustangs football jersey through the halls of our high school. Everybody liked Kevin, he was larger than life and so charismatic. The world seems just a little sadder place today knowing that he’s left us. My heart goes out to his family, I wish them much comfort right now.
