Lillian Kimball Obituary

Lillian K. Kimball passed away peacefully on March 11, 2017, at her home in Magalia, Calif. She was born on March 10, 1941, in Wainwright, Alaska, to James and Nannie N. Kagak. She worked at Shrafts in Manhattan, N.Y.; Green Point Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y.; at Wilcox Memorial Hospital in Kaapa, Hawaii; and retired from Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska.
Lily was a member of the First Presbyterian Church Choir in Anchorage, and later converted to the Catholic Church in New York. Lily was present for all her grandchildren's births, with the exception of William J Kimball and Robert L. Kimball. Lily enjoyed sewing, baking and gardening; her biggest joy was traveling and bingo. At the age of 55, she learned to swim, taught by her youngest daughter, Ronna, as her instructor.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, William H. Kimball; and five children, Carolyn, Michael, Robert, Toni and Ronna; her sister, Mildred K. Newmeyer; Marilyn Driggs; Jacob Kagak; 13 grandchildren;17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and cousins.
A service will be held at Maranatha Full Gospel Fellowship, 3541 West Dimond Blvd. in Anchorage, at 3 p.m., on Thursday, April 6, 2017. There will be a potluck, following the service, at the church. Her final resting place will be at Quantico National Cemetery in Virginia, with her husband. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.

Auntie Lilly! First cousin to my father, more of a beloved aunt! Her laughter was contagious. Her breads divine She always went hm to keep in touch with friends n family. Always concerned for her family. She had no patience for stupidity n was so very brave, compassionate to a fault. Her jackets were sewn beautifully. She made a fashion statement everywhere she went! Miss her terribly!
