Loren Todd

1946 - 2016

Loren Robert "Bob" Todd, cherished husband and brother, passed away peacefully at his home in Wasilla, Alaska, surrounded by his wife, brother and family on Dec. 5, 2016, at the age of 70. A Celebration of Life is to be scheduled for the summer of 2017.
Bob was born in Boulder, Colo., in May 1946. He moved to Alaska with his family in 1952, where his dad worked on the Eklutna Hydro Electric Power project. At that time he attended Palmer Elementary School. In 1957, the family moved to Eagle River, Alaska. Bob attended Chugiak Elementary and then graduated from East High School in 1964. Bob joined the United States Navy in October 1965, serving proudly on the USS America, receiving an honorable discharge in October 1969. Not long after his return to Alaska from the Navy, Bob was reunited with a childhood friend, Deborah, soon realizing she was the love of his life. They made their home in Eagle River and later in Wasilla.
In 1977, Bob started his own business as Todd's Plumbing and Heating and in 1999, he and his brother, Larry, formed Alaska GoldStar Plumbing and Heating Inc. Bob was devoted husband, an avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed flying his own aircraft and loved the outdoor experience.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Frances Todd; and brother-in-law, Richard Midyett Jr.
Bob is survived by his wife, Deborah; brother, Larry (Elizabeth) Todd; sister-in-law, Pat Midyett; nephews, Mike and Rob Todd; nieces, Christy Garrett, Moria McMillen and Deitta Ernst; and many more beloved relatives and friends.
His family expresses gratitude to Genacta In Home Care and the Wasilla V.A. for their help and assistance.
