Maurice Sheridan Obituary

Maurice Wakefield Sheridan, 87, of Fort Collins, Colo., died June 22, 2008, at his home.
A memorial service was Friday at the Flagler Baptist Church in Flagler, Colo. Burial of cremains was afterward in the Flagler Cemetery.
Maurice was born April 11, 1921, in Wellfleet, Neb., to Wake and Elsie Sheridan. He married Vera Loutzenhiser on Sept. 3, 1946, in Casper, Wyo.
Maurice was a bombardier on a B-24 with the 13th Air Force during World War II. As a first lieutenant, he served in the South Pacific.
Maurice graduated from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and Master of Science degree in accounting in 1955.
In 1968, the family moved to Anchorage, where he went to work for the City of Anchorage, then for the Alaska Railroad as the assistant accounting branch chief.
Maurice is survived by his son, Warren (Bev) Sheridan; daughter, Arlene (Ben) Connell; son, Ronald (Jamie) Sheridan, all of Fort Collins; grandchildren, Kathleen (Bill) Franklin of Spokane, Wash., Jonathan (Michelle) Hooker of Grand Junction, Colo., Riley Sheridan of Fort Collins and Brena Sheridan of Denver; great-grandchildren, Tiffany Lee and Samantha Lee, both of Loveland, Colo., and Jack Hooker of Grand Junction; and stepsister, Bernice Maloney of Flagler.
Maurice was preceded in death by his wife; parents; son, Darrel Maurice Sheridan; granddaughter, Diana Lee; grandson, Jason Patrick Hooker; stepbrother, Stan Geiken; and stepsister, Delores Ferdig.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Maurice's name to St. Labre Indian School, the Fort Collins Cat Rescue, or a charity of the donor's choice in care of Love Funeral Home, P.O. Box 188, Limon, Colo.
