Paul Putt Obituary

On Nov. 13, 2014, our Dad, Paul "Red" D. Putt, 76, gracefully crossed the finish line on earth, due to the complications of radiation treatment. Red loved life! He loved his family and friends. He loved a "shot & a beer" or two or four. He loved God and had an amazing spiritual side to him, that not many knew. He loved adventure, escape and running the large and amazing rivers of Alaska on his boat and snowmachine. He loved challenges, risks and was tough. He was probably one of the most stubborn people that heaven has received and, definitely, the most argumentative, but would also agree to disagree. Things that will always remind us of our Dad: running down the pig, Fox News, NRA, LaChoy Canned Chinese Food, Texas Red Hot's, Buffalo Bills, potato salad, moose meat, sauerkraut, egg salad, Oldies, dancing, R&B Soul music - too many to mention. But one thing is for sure Dad, You were loved by so many, and you will be horribly missed. Survived by his five children, Paul Jr., Sandy, Jimmy, Judy and Kathy; many grands and greats! We are providing a non-formal, no ceremony, gathering of friends, belly up to the bar last drink on "Red" at Four Corners Lounge on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014, between 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. One keg of beer is on tap. Across from 3Bears on the Palmer-Wasilla Hwy. As per instructions by our Dad, we will honor his request for his choice in services. He did not want a party, said, "I want hamburgs and hot dogs with a small church service and a bonfire in the front yard." Due to time of year, we will have this celebration of Life on Dad's birthday, April 19, 2015. Please email [email protected] with a name and address for a reminder card in April.

There are no words to ease the pain and empty hearts felt by the loss of your loving & generous Dad. I just hope that as time passes, you will all be able to enjoy the "pictures behind your eyes" that can never be erased. My most sincere condolences to the entire family and many friends he leaves behind.

May he rest in peace. His Roman V car made the greatest impression on me during my very first visit to Lancaster Speedway in 1968. Thanks for the thrills, "Big Red!"
