Randall Simpson Obituary

Randall Lynn Simpson, a 61-year-old resident of Anchorage, Alaska, died Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, as a result of a sudden onset illness at his sister's residence in Rupert, Idaho.

He was born Dec. 26, 1951, the son of Raymond George and Janice Anderson Simpson in Clinton, Iowa. He attended and completed his education at Camanche High School in Camanche, Iowa.

His career as a cook took him to Anchorage, Alaska, where he spent 36 years of his life - 16 of which were spent as the assistant cook for the Alaska pipeline. He was always looking for something different to make that would satisfy the hungry pipeline crew.

Aside from being a cook, he had a passion for gardening and loved flowers and plants. He had a "green-thumb" and enjoyed taking pictures of his flowers.

Randy was a giver. He loved to help people in need and never asked for a payback. He was always willing to offer as much as he could to help others. He was loved very much by his sister and brothers.

He is survived by his brothers, Raymond (Trudy) Simpson of Lake Charles, LA, Jeff Simpson (Brenda Shoultz) of Camanche, Iowa, Greg (Lizbeth) Simpson of Seattle, Washington, and Brad (Marcia) Simpson of Ogden, Utah; and his sister, Marcia Simpson (Craig Thompson) of Rupert, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

At Randy's request, no formal services will be held. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of the Rasmussen Funeral Home and Crematory Service of Burley, Idaho.
