After graduating from high school, Bob joined the United Stated Army and served honorably in the Korean War.

Upon returning home, Bob began his career as a pipe fitter. He worked throughout the United States on exciting projects at Cape Kennedy during the Apollo Program, and Disney World. In 1973, Bob and his family moved west in search of snow and settled in Denver, Colorado. Three years later, Bob began working in the oilfields of Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. He retired as a senior construction manager from Arco Alaska, Inc. in 1994, having worked in Alaska, China and Azerbaijan, Russia.

Bob enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, traveling, hunting on the family property in Georgia, playing cards and reading.

He was a wonderful husband, father, and papa who loved life and loved to laugh. His smile would light up a room, his humor was contagious and his thoughtfulness and compassion never ended.

Services were held at Lohman Funeral Home in Port Orange, Florida on Monday January 9, 2012.
