Sonny Hayes Obituary
A Celebration of Life service in honor of Sonny will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at West Valley Family Church of the Nazarene 1300 S. Ridgecrest Rd in Wasilla, AK.
A Potluck will follow the services and the family invites those who attend to please bring a dish to share. Sonny's wishes were for cremation and his family will honor his request to scatter his ashes at a later date.
Sonny graduated from East High School in Anchorage and worked as a native artist baleen basket weaver who was taught by his mentor John F. Hank. Sonny will be missed by all the artists who he met and especially missed by his family and friends. His family said: "We all loved you, Sonny."
Sonny is survived by his mother, Bonnie and stepfather, Davis Miller of Sunshine, Alaska; daughter, Melina Hester of Palmer, AK and Lubbock, TX; brother, Robert Mischa Saccheus of Elim, Alaska. He is also survived by his uncles, Mike, Issac, Abel and Carl; his aunt, Sonya Faraci; many cousins, nieces and nephews; and his loyal and loving friends. Sonny was preceded in death by his father, Sonny, and his granddad, Fredolf Saccheus, and grandma, Margaret Saccheus.

I only lived in ancorage for a few years but Sonny was one of my best friends,he was part of a great youth group and was a dear friend.I am sad to hear of his passing but know that he is with god Rip my friend!!!!

We thought of Sonny as a son. We were graced with many fond memories of him while he lived with us.He was loved, and will be missed.

I am very sorry to see such a young man leave us so soon. I did not know you as a man, I only knew you as a child on the playground, of the school I worked at.I am truly sorry and will keep all of the family in my prayers.
