~THE FAMILY CHAIN~
~We knew little that morning that God was going to call your name. ~In life we loved you dearly, and in death we will do the same. ~It broke our hearts to loose you, you did not go alone; for part of us went with you, the day god called you home. ~You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide; and though we cannot see you, your always at our side. ~Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same; but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

Alma, Dwyane, Aaron, Tootles, Dez and Matthew:

I'm so sorry for your loss. When I heard what happened I didn't want to believe it. A few days later it finally sunk in and a flood of memories came over me; everyone hanging out in the house, doing whatever it was that we did. I love you guys and I wish I could have been there for you. Remember the good times and kids, always remember that "I said no!" I love you and take care.

Alma,
Bruce and I were terribly saddened to hear about Tom. Although I only met you both once (and Anthony at the BBQ) I enjoyed our visit long after it was over, hearing sometimes about you through what Tom told Bruce. You struck us as a wonderful, warm and loving couple, full of life, laughter and giving spirits. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. Sincerely, Bruce and Lori Tyler

Alma, kids and grandchildren, mom and dad
When we (Burkher and Huda) heard about Tom we were saddened at your loss. I (Huda) met Tom for the first time in Fairbanks during AFN in 2005 I finally met this guy called Tom Elia, who Burkher talked very highly of. I know this won't make sense right now but it helps me deal with the deaths in our family: GOD DOES NOT BRING US THROUGH TROUBLED WATERS TO DROWN US BUT TO CLEANSE US. I pray for comfort for you all. Love from Unalakleet and Nome---Burkher and Huda and 7 girls.

Alma and Family, Uncle John and Aunt Ruthann:
While words cannot erase the pain and sorrow of losing a good man like Tom who was always smiling and ready to laugh, knowing people who care and think the world of all of you helps. Our prayers are with you, and from our hearts to your hearts, a blessing to each of you. I was glad to have talked and laughed with Tom in St. Mary's when I was there with Luci during Thanksgiving. In that small way, it makes me feel better. And those small fond memories will help carry the load. Tom, working , talking, smiling and laughing. That's how I remember him.
Love, Weaver and Luci.

Alma and family,
There are no words that I can say that will make Tommy's passing easier on you and yours. All I have to give now is my hand to help you when you wish for it; my heart full of prayers that you may see a better tomorrow; and the hope that you know you will see his smiling face greeting you again one day. I have been told before and will tell you now that God loves you. He called Tom home. One day your name will be called and there he will be to hold your hand and to walk down the path of rightousness with you. Tom has to be in that better place we all know is out there..waiting patiently to spend the rest of eternity with you. My family and I care for you all so much. Remember that with time all things pass. Please do not be hesitant to call when you need an extra hand or another set of arms to hold you in comfort. We will be praying for you and yours to quickly be able to stand and walk with your heads high so that your eyes will not miss some of the most beautiful things that life brings.

When I have come to the end of the road, and the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom filled room, Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little-- but not too long, and not with your head bowed low. Remember the love that was once shared; Miss me but let me go.

For this is a journey we all must take, and each must go alone. It's all part of the Master's plan--- A step on the road to home.

When you are loney and sick of heart, Go to the friends and family you know, And bury your sorrows in doing good and loving deeds.

Miss me but-- but let me go.

Alma,

We are here for you, you will not have to go through this difficult time alone. Tom is with you and will be your gardian angel as that is already known.

Talk to him daily as if he is there with you and he will protect and comfort you with each new day.

Our love and prayers are with each one of you.
