Travis Claiborne Obituary

Lifelong Alaskan Travis Claiborne, beloved son and brother died at home after an extended illness. Travis was preceded in death by his father, Gary Owens Claiborne, and is survived by his mother Kathleen Claiborne of Anchorage; sister Roseanne Claiborne of Columbus, Ohio; grandmother Kathleen Anderson of Sevierville, Tennessee, and many aunts, uncles and cousins too numerous to mention. An accomplished musician, bicyclist, snowboarder and computer wizard, Travis excelled in every endeavor he put his mind to. Travis was greatly loved, respected, and admired by his many close friends who considered him a brother and a wise mentor whose honesty, integrity, and compassion was always an inspiration to them. He will always be missed, and his memory will be cherished and honored by his family and friends who loved him very much.

Dear Claiborne Family,
So sad to hear of Travis's passing. He had an adventurous and kind soul. Would always help a friend in need. He brightened many outdoor expeditions with his humor and wit - and was great at troubleshooting problems and helping everyone get out safely. He will be missed. Our sincere condolences to your family.

To the CLAIBORNE family, my deepest sympathy for the loss of your dear son, and although I did not know him personally. The loss of a love one, son. daughter, etc. touches us all. Please know that the God of tender mercies is aware of your pain and sees your tears for He is near to those broken at heart, draw close to him during this difficult time and he will sustain you now, and in the days ahead. He is not far off from you, just a prayer away.
Sincerely

Dear Kathy and Rose,
I was shocked and so saddened by the almost unbelievable news that Travis is no longer with us. It has really made me sad to know he has passed away, and even though I haven't seen Travis in years, he is no doubt someone I will never forget as well as an inseparable part of my growing up in Alaska. Travis will always remain in my mind as an infinitely curious, wonderfully funny and supremely intelligent friend. From all the nights we spent at Travis's house, all the mischief we got into, soccer trips and games, telling jokes and playing them on one another. As sad as I am now, I can only be grateful that I was lucky enough to know Travis and call him my friend.
