My dear friend, Sandy,
It always was and will always be Sandy and Wade. The bond between you both is unique and rare. Never have I seen such love, joy, laughter, adventures and togetherness as the two of you. How blessed you are to have experinced something that few of us ever will. My special memory was the rose that he gave to you on Valentine's Day, only to ask if he could give it to me when the two of you stopped by to visit me at my home, being all alone on that day. Only the both of you would show such compassion and love towards another. You gave eachother life and it lives on. With each tundra flower, to a caribou running, a boat on the sea, a fish on your line, to your lovely home that the both of you worked so hard on...Wade will be there. You know how God and he together prepared for this parting, and they continue to prepare for you to join them when the timing is right.

Love,

Sandy,

Words can't express how deeply saddened I am to hear about Wade. I will miss his humor, his laugh ( and it was a VERY distinctive laugh), and, most importantly, his presence. Men like Wade are rare. Prudhoe just won't be the same without him. I'm glad that the two of you were able to share your lives together.

Dearest Sandy,
I am shocked and deeply saddened for you... You are a wonderful person and from what I knew of Wade and your relationship - This is a terrible, insurmountable time for you... Just know that as the shock and pain wears over time, more pleasant thoughts and memories will work their way back into your heart and mind... Grab these visions and smile, laugh, and occasionally cry... But remember those good times to help you through the bad... Keep your head high, we are all nearby, even if all you need is a smile and a chat... With a heavy heart...

Sandy,

Our hearts go out to you and your family.

We both have known you and Wade for a very long time. We have shared many good times whether it was during SRT training or running into one another in the BOC . . . .

At our weekly SRT meetings, Wade always had the knack of bringing everyone together – usually through a story or two . . . .

Wade truly inspired others to experience new opportunities that came their way. He was always so active and looking forward to the next adventure.

Just remember, you are not saying “goodbye” but instead you are saying “I’ll see you later” and you will see Wade on the other side . . .

We both will truly miss him!!!

Eric and Linda, Sandra, Jake, Matt & Rachel –

Our hearts go out to you and your family. Please know that we are thinking of you. I am still in a state of denial that my dear friend “Wader’s” of 20+ years is gone. It isn’t fair.

I will miss his boundless energy. I will miss his sense of humor followed by his colossal laughter. I will miss his genuine love of his family and friends. I will miss his trips over to my house where he would sit in my drive way and we would shoot the bull for an hour and share a drink over our endless stories of working together on the slope. I loved you my friend. You are truly an original as I am sure the lord now knows. Your passing has clearly left a void in the hearts of your family and endless friends …

Sandy, I am so sorry for your loss. I remember meeting Wade when I first started in Prudhoe, and he was always a welcome sight. With his humorous stories and upbeat attitude he certainly leaves great memories for all those who knew him. My favorite line from him was when asked “What’s going on?” his response was: “Just doing what I can to keep the pump price down.” He will be truly missed!

Sandy and the Johnson Family,
Wade was a good part of my life on the slope for the last 20 years. I don't think I have ever laughed so much as I have at some of his stories and adventures. Wade was an upbeat and joyful man, he touched my heart and will be greatly missed. Sail on Captain Wade, on God's glorious ocean. Sandy know that Wade is now fishing with the Fisher of Men. Sandy,
I had only met Wade on the evening of September 3, 2008 after you and I sat next to one another on the way home from Prudhoe. You and I talked about your love and devotion to Wade. You also spoke of your many years together. Sandy, it was clear to me when we got off the plane that the two of you shared something truly special. I am sure that is a hard adjustment for you right now. If there is anything I can do to help you let me know. I am just a phone call away.

Best wishes,

Sandy, it was with sadness and shock that I recieved the news that Wade has passed away. I am sorry. Wade and I have worked together for many years. He was on the crew when I first started working on the project support crew at Santa Fe pad. One of I fondest memories of Wade was when they sent Wade to Barrow to help free the whale from the ice. The stories he came back with... He has been a valued co-worker and friend, a real pleasure to work with.May the Lord comfort you with the assurance that Wade is off to his next big adventure.

Sandy, I just wanted to tell you how much I'll miss Wade. My heart goes out to you and everyone that knew and loved Wade. I will never forget him and the great work he accommplished in Prudhoe Bay. He was always someone I called upon when we had a tough job to do with a crane. I don't know how many times Wade picked up an LDF and put it back on the VSM's for us. He could make the American crane in Prudhoe work like no other.

He was truly a great man! Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time of great loss.

Wade is my cousin and a huge piece of my wonderful days in Alaska. I left Eagle River 20 some years ago, but my heart never has. I was blessed at a very young age with a great family in my Aunt Linda, Uncle Eric and my Cousins. Because of those people I had the opprotunity to experience many things that others dont. The love of nature, the freedoms of flying to a remote destination and just how we are a small part of this great world..and of course the love of family. I will forever remember Wade like the last time I saw him..a smile, a laugh, and a kind word. I will do my best to carry on his great attitude towards others.

Sandy and the Johnson Family,
My husband, Jeff's, and my heart broke to hear about Wade. We didn't know him, however, I knew you from ASCI and my husband got to know you at Stores. I remember Jeff introducing me to you at BOC when I first started working in Prudhoe and saying that you and Wade - like we - were the LUCKY ones! To have the blessing of working on the Slope together and not having to be apart. HOLD ON TO THAT and the memories of the times off together, as well as the times you were able to get together up here. What a wonderful experience! I CANNOT IMAGINE what you are going through. God is with you and your family. Try to remember how absolutely blessed the two of your were and will be again one day.

The minute that Wade was born, he was destined to be that "special" person. How could he not be with the parents hehad. He was a happy go lucky guy like his dad, with just the same amount of devil threw in there, and so handsome which came from his beautiful mother I am sure. We were truly blessed to have him for 48 years, such a short time.... He will always remain such a wonderful memory... one you just can't forget.. Love to all of you

So many things to remember about the "CUZ" and never enough time to talk about it. Even though miles seperated us God always left that part of my heart to conect with his heart. That smile, that laugh, that warm embrace when we did get to be together. Things that will always be in my heart. We were brought into this world to be together to sit under the Christmas tree at Grandma and Grandpa Gearys, to have our time on the dining room table, to have our birthdays together, memories that will never be forgotten. Miles once again seperate us but I know that again we will share those times. He will not have to feel the pains of this earthly life and I know that he is preparing that heavenly spot for our reunion. Aunt Linda and Uncle Eric my heart is with you always. I love you and each time that I hear Uncle Eric laugh and get that hug I will feel the presence of Wade. He may not be with us in the earthly sense but I know that he is right beside me each and everytime I see the sunset, sunrise, or the eagles flying high. Seek comfort in the Lord! He has our Angel Wade and he is being cared for like we could never do. The grave is not the end it is the beginning!
May God hold you in the palm of his hand and give you peace and comfort.
I love you,

Though I have not seen Wade since highschool, I remember his kindness and laughter. To all his family...may God ease the pain and help you through your great loss.
"Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplighting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry I am not there, I did not die".

It has been many years since I've seen Wade but I will never forget the summer we spent set netting in Cook Inlet, and how much fun we had. He was a good guy. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. I'm so sorry for your loss.

What can anyone say? Wade will always be a part of my fondest memories of grade school and high school. He was always kind and sweet, and he was always there to help a friend. Though I never got to know his family I am certain they were blessed to have Wade, and my prayers are with them all.

Sandy, mere words can't tell you how sorry i am to have heard about Wade's passing. I will forever remember him as the goof ball on the homer and jackaloff docks. It breaks my heart to know he was taken before any of us were ready to let him go. In time, may your heart heal and the holes be filled again with love and joy.
