Antonio Noriega Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of beloved husband and father Antonio "Tony" Noriega, 70. He passed away on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, in Alamogordo, surrounded by his loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer.
Antonio was born Jan. 17, 1942, in Alamogordo to Gavino and Maria Noriega.
He is survived by his wife Eduvina Sanchez Noriega; children Veronica N. McNeilly, Deborah Bradley and husband, Richard, and David Noriega and wife, Lori, all of Alamogordo; special nephew Hector Sanchez and his wife, Jeanette, of Albuquerque; grandchildren Joey and fiancée, Victoria, Joshua, Sarah, David, Abriana, Jacob, Steven, Alicia and Gabriella; and great-grandchildren Angelo, Illeana, Vycente and Amaya.
He is also survived by his brothers Santos Diaz, Saturnino Noriega and wife, Merry, Gavino Noriega and wife, Stella; his sisters Delilah Meyer, Jovita Noriega, and Ermelinda Noriega Moyers and husband, Bill; and many very special family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his infant son Antonio Jr.; parents Maria and Gavino Noriega; in-laws Ruben and Trinidad Sanchez; sister Guadalupe Delgado; and brothers Sammy Diaz, Santiago Noriega, and Juan, Ishmael and Daniel Ortega.
Antonio married his childhood sweetheart and love of his life on Jan. 19, 1959. During their 53 year marriage, they were blessed by their three children and three nephews they helped care for. He loved hard work, the outdoors, shooting guns and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Antonio was the proud owner of Antonio Noriega Construction for over 25 years. He had a loving, giving and caring heart and was a mentor to all who knew him. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services for Antonio will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at Primera Iglesia Bautista Church, located at 1711 Ocotillo Drive, Alamogordo, with family friend Pastor Inez "Naya" Benitez officiating. Chuck Moon will offer the opening prayer. A reception will follow.
The Noriega family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home. Cremation will take place at PCS.

Tio Tony was on the best men I ever had the privilege of knowing. He always had a funny story or joke to tell. I always remember the smile he would flash every single time he said hi. Tia Vina,Cuz Ronnie,Debbie,David. May the lord help you and bless you during this time. He went to see my dad "Robert Telles" who passed 3months ago today on the 10th. To the same battle, they are now together not suffering anymore and are looking down upon us in peace. We will miss them and shall meet with them again. I send my love an heart to you.
