Byron Bies Obituary
He retired from the United States Air Force after twenty (20) years of service as a Flight Engineer. Byron moved to Minnesota, became a rural postal carrier and opened a machine shop in Isle, MN for 25 years. In 2003 he moved to La Luz, NM and opened Double 'B' Engine Service for 10 years.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Bies, his two sons, Gerald (Erin) Bies of Henderson, NV, David J Bies of La Luz, NM; granddaughter, Mia Bies of Henderson, NV; two grandsons, Gavin Bies of Henderson, NV, Michael Bies of Alamogordo, NM; brother, Jeffery (Faye) Bies of Minneapolis, MN; sister, Janice (Steve) Vogen of Chandler, AZ; nephew, Peter (Rick) Vogen of Minneapolis, MN; niece, Emily (Dar) Allen of Beliot, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ronald and Marietta Bies.
The family will greet friends from 12:30 pm to1:00 PM on March 25, 2017 at Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home Chapel located at 1334 North Scenic Dr., Alamogordo, New Mexico.
The memorial service for Byron Bies will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bruce Freeman, Chaplain at Alamogordo Home Health Care and Hospice officiating.
Should friends desire, contributions may be made to Alamogordo Home Health Care and Hospice.
The Bies family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home to direct the funeral services.
