Fran Prentice Obituary

Frank R. Prentice, 89, of Alamogordo, died Tuesday, September 18, 2008, at Mountain View Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces.
Mr. Prentice was born February 2, 1919 in Clay Center, Kansas to William H. and Lydia (Robinson) Prentice. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and retired after 32 years as an executive in marketing with General Electric. In 1980 he moved to Alamogordo from Fayetteville, New York where he had been active in the Republican Party and the Presbyterian Church. He was also an avid golfer.
Survivors include two sons, Joe Prentice and his wife Sandra of Lebanon, Pennsylvania, and James Prentice of Topsham, Maine; two daughters, Nancy Hansberry and her husband Eric of Hingham, Mass., and Susan O'Marah and her husband Robert of Heuvelton, N.Y.; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Lorraine and Ruth; two brothers, Bruce and William H. Prentice; and a sister Gertrude White.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home, and the family will have private services.
