SAN JUANITA PAIZ MEDRANO
San Juanita Paiz Medrano, a beloved woman of 90 years, peacefully entered into eternal rest on July 21, 2025, in Alice, Texas, surrounded by her loving family members who cherished every moment with her. She was born on May 17, 1935, in Orange Grove, Texas, to Mr. and Mrs. Rosalio & Christina Alaniz-Paiz. San Juanita was a loving & devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister & Aunt. Her family was everything to her. She enjoyed crocheting and making blankets for her grandchildren. She enjoyed singing, cooking, making tamales, empanadas and yeast bread. Her nephews enjoyed her tortillas because she made them big! She was loved so much by her family and will be greatly missed.
She was proceeded in death by her loving Husband Julian Medrano Sr., her parents Rosalio & Christina Paiz; Brothers Juanito Paiz, Oscar Paiz, Emilio Paiz, Domingo Paiz, Martin Paiz, Librado Paiz, Ramon Paiz, Canuto Paiz and a sister Jesusita Paiz; Sister-in-laws Theodora Paiz, Maria Paiz and Angie Paiz; Son In law Juan Guerra Jr & Brother in law Hector Ortiz
She is survived by her loving children Margarita Medrano, Gracie Guerra, Olga (Agustin) Vasquez, Julian (Elizabeth) Medrano Jr., Oscar Medrano all from Alice, TX; Siblings, Erasmo (Luz) Paiz of Piernitas Point, and Julianita (Hector) Ortiz of Orange grove, TX; Sister-in-laws Belia Paiz, Angie Pena, Lupe Paiz, Eva Hughs and Brother-in-law Frank Medrano Jr, 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; Along with numerous nieces and nephews the many whom she loved very much.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM at Rosas Funeral Home, with a Holy Rosary to commence at 7:00 PM in our Chapel. The Funeral mass will be the following day, Friday, July 25, 2025 at 10:00 PM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Burial to follow at New Collins Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Guerra, Oscar Medrano Jr., Blake Hodges, Alvaro Garza, Agustin Vasquez III, Julian Medrano III, Emilio Medrano, Michael Vasquez, and Juan Carlos Ramos. Honorary pallbearers will be Elijah Trevino, Nathaniel Trevino, Brody Molina, Josiah Hurtado, Jaxon Vela, Robert Vasquez and Nicholas Vasquez.
