Frank Watts Obituary

Frank T. Watts, 66, of Amarillo died Sunday, August 19, 2018.

Rosary will be said at 6:00 p.m., today, Thursday, August 23, 2018, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 24, 2018, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Frank was born February 23, 1952, in Amarillo to Fermin and Gloria Watts. He retired from the City of Amarillo Fire Department as a lieutenant. Frank was a man defined by his career. He was always willing to give of himself for others; even complete strangers. He was generous of heart and always had a good joke to share. Both in retirement and during service, he was an active member of the Amarillo Firefighters Union serving as both Secretary and 2nd Vice President. He considered his fellow firefighter's brothers and enjoyed the opportunity to represent them in the union.

Frank was a loving and caring "Popo" to his two grandsons, Jacob and Benjamin. He often visited Dallas for weeks at a time sharing his time and words of wisdom with the boys. He was a wonderful father - always there for his children and always taking the time to help them. He will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Fermin Rios Watts; a brother, Freddy T. Watts; and a sister, Gloria Eugene Watts.

Survivors include a daughter, Angela Aguirre and husband Ray, and son, Frank "P.J" Watts, all of Dallas; his mother, Gloria Watts of Amarillo; three brothers, Fermin Watts, Jr., Joe T. Cano, and Jimmy T. Cano, all of Amarillo; a sister, Victoria Watts, of Amarillo; and two grandchildren, Jacob and Benjamin Aguirre.
