Michael Hodges Obituary
Cameron attended University of Missouri Medical School in Kansas City, MO where he graduated in 1995 with his medical degree. He completed his General Surgery residency in 2000. His surgery practice took him to Missouri and Iowa before moving to Amarillo, TX in 2012, where he opened Hodges Weight Loss and Advanced Surgery.
Cameron was a well-respected and talented surgeon who will be remembered as much for his humor and engaging personality as for his skill in the operating room. He was loved and will be missed by his patients and his colleagues.
As gifted as Cameron was as a surgeon, anyone who knew Cameron will remember most of all his love for his family.
Cameron and his wife, Geralyn Schell Hodges, met in medical school and married in 1994. They loved each other deeply and shared a wonderful love story. They had four beautiful children, Ryan Gregory Hodges, Grace Elizabeth Hodges, Louis "Luke" Michael Hodges, and Caleb Cameron Hodges. Cameron was a wonderful father who loved his children so much. He was incredibly proud of each one of them and shared stories about each of them with friends and patients alike.
Cameron will be deeply missed, for he was deeply loved.
He is survived by his wife and children as well as his parents, Larry and Nancy Hodges (Bolivar, MO) and his brother and sister-in-law, Shannon and Cynthia Hodges (Pasco, WA).
"But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep." Thess. 4:13-14
The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:30 p.m., tonight at the funeral home.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, in the chapel at Hillside Christian Church, West Campus, 6100 Soncy, with Chris Condit officiating. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

I have not met Dr. Hodges personally but spoke with him on the phone. He seemed to be very caring and dedicated physician. He was truly missed by his patients. I wish I had met him in person. God bless his family and my prayers are with them. Constantine Saadeh

Dr. Hodges was a wonderful man! I was a patient of his for many years now! I remember me telling him we had just gone to Branson For vacation and we shared memories about Eurkea Springs. He had told me about his beautiful family during our conversation! We visited about church camps, and shared the love of God; He was just so easy to talk to. When I first started coming to see him he was in a smaller office where he had a receptionist, and a nurse, his business blossomed quickly! Every time I went in he always shared something about his precious family! Before I had my surgery he asked me if it was ok to pray with me. He blew me away because most of the time doctors don't pray over you! (At least not with you) he was a one of kind man with a compassionate heart for each of his patients! Dr. Hodges you will be greatly missed! I pray for peace and understanding for his wife and precious children and the rest of the family! Lean onto God he will give you the strength and the courage to continue to move Forward. May God bless you all

When I was in nursing school, I felt I had found the doctor I would one day work for. I understood his mission and his love for The Lord was so evident. I ended up withdrawing from nursing due to a heart attack, and returned to get my degree in another field... but I've continued admiring the quality of surgeon and Christian example he was. My prayers are with his family and staff... God's grace and love be with you through this heartbreaking journey.

Dr. Hodges performed my sleeve surgery a year ago this past April and I was so thankful to him for helping me get my life back. I enjoyed visiting with him at each visit and I will truly miss him as I know many others will too. God bless your family during this time.
