Dorothy Virginia Cabodi

1916 - 2020

It is with sadness that we share the passing of Dorothy Virgina Cabodi on January 20, 2020. She quietly passed away at home at the age of 103. She leaves behind four children, seven grand-children and nine great-grandchildren. She was born to the late Frank and Jean Howell on December 3,1916, in Detroit, Michigan and had one brother Jerry Howell. At two and a half years old she and her family moved to Oakland, CA, where she graduated from Fremont High School in 1934. After graduation, she moved to Sacramento where she met her husband Marco Anthony Cabodi of 44 years. They moved to Fair Oaks and built their first home in 1940 on the same property where she resided until her death. Dorothy was an avid sports fan. She loved the San Francisco Giants and the Sacramento Kings. She also loved playing tennis and golf. She was actively involved in her community as evidenced by her 60 years of service in the Orangevale Women's Club. She played in local Bunco and Karaoke groups and belonged to the Fair Oaks Historical Society. Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Marco (Mickey). She is survived by her two daughters, Ginny Cozby (Ed); Susan Roper (Craig); her two sons Gary Cabodi (Leslye); Mickey Cabodi (Ellen). Dorothy was larger than life. She was someone who inspired others and lived every day it to the fullest! She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Celebration of Life will be held at the Orangevale Community Center 6826 Hazel Ave Orangevale, CA on April 11, 2020 at 12 p.m.
