Alan Keith Bowman passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, in Independence, Louisiana, at the age of 54. He was born on Thursday, August 19, 1971 in Marrero, Louisiana to Carol P. Bowman Harper and the late Merlin R. Bowman. Alan graduated from Ponchatoula High School and went on to become an iron worker. He enjoyed watching sports, reading about history, and helping his family as a handyman.
Alan is survived by his wife, Tammy O'Neal Bowman; son and daughter-in-law, Kyle Alan Bowman & Tayler Wiley; mother, Carol P. Bowman Harper; brother and sister-in-law, Christopher Gerald Bowman & Michelle LaPrime Bowman; aunt, Myrna Fendlason; and uncle and aunt, Joe Porter & Diana Porter.
He was preceded in death by his father, Merlin R. Bowman; grandparents, Jim Bowman, Ethel Matthews Bowman, Opal L. Thigpen Porter, Louis N. Porter; aunt, Margaret Justine Sance West; and uncle, David N. Fendlason.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula, 100 W. Magnolia Street, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454, on Monday, October 6, 2025, beginning at 9:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 11:00 AM.
Interment will follow in Wetmore Cemetery, Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Lallie Kemp Medical Center for Alan's care during this difficult time.
