David Jackson Strahan April 21, 1948 – August 1, 2025 David Jackson Strahan, 77, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 1, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, David's life was filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. David had a deep love for gardening and cooking, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. However, his greatest joy came from being "Paw Paw David" to his beloved grandchildren, who were the light of his life. His family was truly everything to him, and he gave them his unwavering love and support. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Gwendolyn Strahan; his sons, David Strahan, Jason Strahan, and Patrick Strahan (Sarah); and his cherished grandchildren, Trevor, Ashley, Amy, Amelia, Gauge, Landyn, and Blake. He also leaves behind his loving sisters, Cherrie, Elaine, and Katherine, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. David is preceded in death by his parents, Ozone and Bonnie Jean Strahan; his sister, Connie; brothers, Johnny and Ray; his son, Jerry Strahan; and his niece, Vicky. David's legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to family will live on in all who knew and loved him. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Westside Baptist Church, located at 40375 I-55, Ponchatoula, LA 70454. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Andy Stafford. After the service, all are invited to join the family for a reception. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to assist with funeral and medical expenses.
