Hollis Kirkland Jr.

Hollis, age 78, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025. He was a native of Independence, Louisiana and a resident of Albany, Louisiana. Hollis never met a stranger. He was willing to help anyone in any way that he could and made many friends along the way doing just that. Hollis was truly the best husband to his wife, Betty. He made sure that she was always taken care of and did whatever he could to make her happy. He was a loving husband, a loving father, grandfather, and friend. Hollis will be deeply missed by everyone who had the opportunity to love and know him. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 wonderful years and soulmate, Betty Kirkland; children, Danny, Sandy (Eric), Richard (Sylvia), and Philip; grandchildren, Sera, Danielle (Leroy), Caleb, Blake (Rebecca), Bradley, David (Rachael), Kristen (Joseph), Cindy, Owen, and Jenna; great-grandchildren, Bella, Maverick, Liam, Taw, Dally, Millie, Adalie, and Corbin; sisters, Edna, Ethel, and Betty; brother, Charlie; and his favorite dog, Boudreaux. Hollis is preceded in death by his son, Alex Kirkland; daughters, Rochelle Kirkland and Cynthia Kirkland; brother, James Kirkland; sisters, Marie and Shirley; and mother, Clara.
