Jacqueline M. "Jackie" Wedge

Jacqueline "Jackie" M. Wedge, age 62, peacefully passed away on August 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, she was a longtime resident Marrero, Louisiana and a current resident of Springfield, Louisiana. She especially enjoyed her daily outings with friends, and found great joy in traveling, with cruises being among her fondest memories. More than anything, her greatest happiness came from spending time with her beloved family and friends-most especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Jackie's memory will be forever cherished by all who knew and loved her. Jackie is survived by her loving husband, Kevin A. Wedge Sr.; son, Kevin A. Wedge Jr. (Hannah); sisters, June Trahan (Donnie), Charlene Grubbe, and Carolyn Plaisance (Mike); brothers, Robert Matherne Jr. (Carman) and Kenneth Matherne (Emily); and grandchildren, Nathan A. Wedge and Micah P. Wedge. Jackie is preceded in death by her parents, Robert A. Matherne Sr. and Irene B. Matherne; brother, Ronald Matherne; and sisters, Vicki Matherne, Rebecca Matherne, and Patricia Abadie. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home at 12012 Hwy 190 W Hammond, LA 70401 on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. officiated by Father Paul Gros. Interment to follow at St. Margaret Catholic Church Cemetery.
