Rita Lewis Obituary

Rita D. Lewis, age 71, passed away peacefully at her home in Varnado, Louisiana, Thursday, August 14, 2025. She was a lie-long resident of the Varnado community. Miss Rita's favorite activities included listening to country music on her radio, watching tv, and giving her brother, Al, a jokingly hard time. She is survived by two brothers: Steven Lewis and Allen "Al" Lewis; one sister: Renee Lewis Randall (Allen, Jr. "Bubba"); two nephews: Steven James Lewis and Wesley Allen Randall (Jennifer); two nieces: Kristina "Kristy" Rivers (Jewel) and Melissa Renee Broussard (Gabe); and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Miss Rita was preceded in death by her parents: Armon Ashford Lewis and Jeanette Lanelle Williams Lewis; a nephew: Jessie Lee Randall; and one sister-in-law: Judy Lewis. Brown-McGehee Funeral Home was entrusted with final arrangements. Visitation will start Monday, August 18, 2025, from 12PM until time of service at 4PM. Interment will immediately follow at Seal Cemetery in Varnado, LA.
