Benjamin Ward Obituary

Anniston - Benjamin Ward, 82, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2011, at Stringfellow Hospital. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Jeanene Morrison Ward; his daughter, Jennifer Carter and her husband, Barry; his son, Joseph D. Ward; grandchildren, Jordan Ward, Logan Carter and DreAnna Ward and sister, Betty Jean Hedrick and her husband, Wayne. Mr. Ward served in the U.S. Air Force in Germany and the Pentagon. He was a pilot and attended Jacksonville State University and retired from Monsanto. He also served as supervisor of the bus drivers for the Oxford City Schools for several years. Jeanine, I am sorry for your loss. Ben and I shared some memories in phone conversations in recent months. I am glad that we got to visit at our last high school reunion. I will think of Ben when I look at the reunion pictures he sent. I will miss his phone calls and e mails. Bart Trammell

I will miss my Grandpapa. We had great fun riding on the ATV. He taught me the importance of helping people. And I will always try to be like my Grandpapa and help people along the way.
