Funeral Services for Bernard "Bernie" Eugene Emerson, age 92 of Anniston, Alabama will be held on Thursday, May 18th at 2:00 at Gray Brown Mortuary. He passed away May 14th, 2023. Visitation will be Thursday, May 18th from 1:00 to 2:00 prior to the service. Burial for Mr. Emerson will be held at Forestlawn Gardens. He was born on July 4th, 1930 to Karles and Edna Emerson. He was a proud Marine who served from 1950 to 1954 and was a Korean War veteran. He was also a proud graduate of Jacksonville State University. He retired from Anniston Army Depot, but later continued to work as a security officer and did so for many years. He is survived by his daughters, Jan Emerson and Ann Thompson (Gary Woodard); his grandchildren, Morgan Thompson (Hayden Lindsey), Chris Thompson, Aaron Woodard, Justin Woodard, and Heather Saffold (Josh); his great-grandchild, Ace Saffold; and his sister, Donna Smith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Emerson; his parents, Karles and Edna Emerson; and many other relatives. He was the kindest man and the most loving husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
