Edward Forester Obituary

Edward Lee Forester, of Oxford, known to his loved ones as Lee, passed away on October 4, 2023, at the age of 73, in Anniston, Alabama. Born on May 6, 1950, in Anniston, Lee was the son of the late Jake E Forester and Bernice C Forester. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, brother William "Bill" Forester, his beloved wife Sandra Forester, son William "Billy" Forester and his nephew Kerry B Forester. Lee's memory will forever be treasured by his surviving daughter Laura Osborne (Zack), son Tyler Forester, and his granddaughter Avery Grimes. Lee dedicated 20 years of his life to serving his country with honor in the Navy. His unwavering commitment to defending our nation was a testament to his selflessness and patriotism. After his military service, Lee also served his community as a mail carrier for Eastaboga. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church of Oxford. Our father was one of a kind. He always had a good joke, some naughty and some nice. He was a kind gentle man who loved his children unconditionally. We will miss him dearly. Please join us at Gray Brown Funeral home in Anniston, AL on Wednesday, Oct 11th from 5pm-7 for a casual visitation with family. Burial will be with the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.

I searched for Lee several times in recent years but couldn't find him. I am so sorry for his family's loss. I served with Lee in the U.S. Navy and knew his wife Sandra as well. He was a terrific guy, a good leader, and teacher. Spent 18 Mo. with him on board USS Forrestal in 1974-1975. He was a good man, and an exceptional Weather Forecaster. He taught me a lot as well as many others who served in the Naval Weather Service. "Fair winds and following seas" brother. Us FID sailors salute you!

I met Mr Forester at Autumn Cove assisted living. His room was the one I now occupy. He was kind to me, giving me a sweater he received from here last Christmas. He was a veteran as were both my parents. I will miss his laughter and sweetness every day. May he Rest In Peace with his family always. With sincere sympathy, Ellen Austin
