A celebration of life for Fannie Lois Kirby, 72, of Gadsden, will be held, Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 1:00pm at S. M. Goodson Funeral Home in Anniston. A public viewing will be held on, Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 11am-1pm at the funeral home. Professional services entrusted to S.M. Goodson Funeral Home-Anniston. Fannie Lois Kirby, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, was born in Ohatchee, Alabama on February 21, 1953, to the parentage of George and Fannie Mae Smith. She accepted Christ at an early age and united with Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church in Ohatchee. Fannie received her formal education in the Calhoun County School System and attended Ohatchee High School. Fannie was known for her loving heart and her remarkable ability to uplift those around her. She poured her love into every meal she cooked, bringing her family and friends together at the dinner table, where laughter and stories were shared. She was the backbone of her family, a guiding light whose positive outlook brought peace in even the stormiest of times. Her wisdom and wit offered not only good advice but also countless moments of joy, reflecting her fantastic sense of humor that brightened the lives of everyone who knew her. On Thursday, October 30, 2025, Fannie Lois Kirby completed her earthly assignment and entered eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Melanie Beard; granddaughter, Lois Kirby; and siblings, Louise Cunningham, George Smith, Jr., and Herbert Smith. Fannie's loving memories will forever be cherished by her children, Clarissa (William) Corbin, Cedric Kirby, and Lecole Kirby; grandchildren, Laquisha Kirby, Conswaela Kirby, Mahisha Beard, Janasia Price, Orential Turner, Jr., Jemayca Walker, Jerome Walker, III, William "Trey" Corbin, III, Kamayah Casleberry, and LeCole Kirby, Jr.; and sister, Emma Jean Bell. As we say goodbye, let us remember Fannie not with sadness, but with gratitude for the laughter, love, and wisdom she shared with us all.
