Frances Hughes Obituary

Funeral services for Frances Arnetha Hughes, 77, of Eastaboga, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs with the Rev. Brian Watts officiating. Interment will follow in the Oxford Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends this evening from 6 - 8 at the funeral home. Mrs. Hughes passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2010 in Eastaboga. A native of Gadsden, Alabama, Mrs. Hughes was of the Baptist faith. She is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Hughes; two sons, Rodney Paul James and Ronald Curtis Hughes; her mother, Helen E. Waldrep; father, Miller Stancill and by her step-father, Urbin Paul "Dee" Waldrep. Mrs. Hughes is survived by her son, Randall "Randy" Hughes and his wife, Diane, of Eastaboga; sisters, Martha Stancill Cook, of Bremen, Georgia and Barbara Stancill Freeman and her husband, Edward, of Gulfport, Miss.; five grandchildren, Christy Reaves and her husband Scott, Rodney Paul Hughes and his wife, Stephanie, Randall Hughes II, Samuel Hughes and Curtis Hughes II; six great-grandchildren, Kalie Hughes, Savannah Hughes, Chloe Reaves, Adam Reaves, Gavin Hughes and Sadie Marsh; three nieces and four nephews. Pallbearers will be Allen Haynes, Von Haynes, Tommy Hughes, Wayne Taylor, James Lee, and Chris Bell. The family would especially like to thank Dr. Nelson Cook and staff, New Beacon Hospice and staff and Ashley Jones, Mrs. Hughes' caregiver.
